Division Series predictions: Can the Yankees take down the Rays? Will the Dodgers advance?

More than 20 staffers at The Athletic made their predictions for the MLB Division Series round following the conclusion of the Wild Card Series. A majority of the staff picked the Los Angeles Dodgers over the Atlanta Braves, the Milwaukee Brewers over the San Diego Padres, the New York Yankees over the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Cleveland Guardians over the Chicago White Sox.

The staff showed the highest consensus for the Dodgers, with 94 percent projecting them to eliminate the Braves. In the American League matchups, 63 percent favored the Yankees to defeat the Rays, while 68 percent selected the Guardians to defeat their AL Central rivals, the White Sox.
