Baltimore Orioles Sign 26-Year-Old Outfielder With MLB Experience

The Baltimore Orioles announced they signed 26-year-old outfielder Rece Hinds to a one-year Major League contract for the 2027 season. The move was revealed alongside the decision to decline their 2027 mutual option on right-handed pitcher Zach Eflin. Hinds, who holds three years of major league experience, joined the Orioles organization via trade in August after stints with the Cincinnati Reds and Miami Marlins.

Hinds played in 12 games for Baltimore last season, recording five hits, two doubles, and an RBI across 28 at-bats. Over his 64-game career in the majors, he holds a .171 batting average with seven home runs and 20 RBIs. The Orioles, who finished the 2026 campaign fourth in the American League East at 79-82, are expected to utilize Hinds primarily as organizational outfield depth.
