The Baltimore Orioles could have found a hidden gem in pitcher Kailen Hamson, but there is still a lot of work to be done.

Baltimore Orioles relief pitching prospect Kailen Hamson possesses an impressive arm but struggles with severe command issues. Hailing from Brisbane, Australia, the left-hander was selected by Baltimore in the eighth round of the 2025 MLB Draft after playing collegiate baseball at Three Rivers College and the University of the Cumberlands.
During his 2026 debut season with Single-A Delmarva, Hamson struck out 72 batters over 67.1 innings but issued 69 walks, finishing with a 6.82 ERA. Despite his ongoing control problems in the Arizona Fall League, Orioles director of pitching Forrest Herrmann affirmed that the club remains committed to developing Hamson's raw talent.
