Yankees manager Aaron Boone says he has no plans to call out his players publicly more often despite recent criticisms of the club's culture.

New York Yankees manager Aaron Boone strongly defended the team's clubhouse culture on Wednesday, rejecting calls to publicly criticize his players. Boone addressed external criticisms, notably from former pitcher CC Sabathia, following the Yankees being swept by the Tampa Bay Rays in the American League Division Series. Boone argued that publicly calling out players does not represent effective leadership and emphasized that accountability remains high within the organization.
General manager Brian Cashman and owner Hal Steinbrenner also supported the internal approach during remarks from Tampa. Steinbrenner stated he would not adopt his late father's habit of public rebukes, preferring face-to-face discussions. The franchise extended its championship drought to 17 seasons, but Boone maintained that the clubhouse environment remains a core strength as he prepares for his 10th season as manager in 2027.
