Jarren Duran might potentially be headed as far away from Boston as possible. The veteran Red Sox outfielder Duran is being linked to the San Diego Padres in trade rumors this week.
Boston Red Sox outfielder Jarren Duran is being linked to the San Diego Padres in trade rumors. Jon Heyman of The New York Post reported that the Padres love Duran and are the likely landing spot if Boston trades him. Boston is reportedly considering moving the 30-year-old outfielder this offseason to avoid paying his projected salary in arbitration.
Duran struggled with a career-worst .207 batting average across 151 games this season, though he recorded 20 home runs and 21 stolen bases. The Padres are seeking offensive production in left field following injuries and platoon struggles, while the Red Sox have 22-year-old prospect Roman Anthony positioned to step into the role.
