Fraser Minten, James Hagens and Matt Poitras have each started strong for the surprising Bruins.

The Boston Bruins have opened their season with an 8-2-1 record, relying heavily on internal development from their young core. Columnist Matt Vautour highlights that after failing to make splashy additions over the summer, the team's reliance on young talent has paid off early, alongside continued production from veteran forward David Pastrnak, who has recorded six goals and 16 assists through 11 games.
Vautour points to significant contributions from younger players, including Fraser Minten, Matt Poitras, and rookie James Hagens, alongside defenseman Frederic Brunet and backup goalie Michael DiPietro. Trade acquisitions JJ Peterka and Will Borgen have also strengthened Boston's depth, allowing the Bruins to secure seven out of eight possible points on a recent road trip before defeating the Nashville Predators.
