MLB Pipeline analysts Jim Callis and Jonathan Mayo reviewed Rule 5-eligible prospects in the Arizona Fall League who could be added to 40-man rosters ahead of the Nov. 17 deadline. Organizations must decide whether to protect eligible players to prevent them from being selected in the Rule 5 Draft scheduled for Dec. 9. Among the standout candidates discussed are Top 100 prospects Jarlin Susana of the Washington Nationals and Demetrio Crisantes of the Arizona Diamondbacks.
Callis and Mayo also highlighted a dozen additional prospects competing for 40-man spots, including Brewers utility player Jett Williams, Phillies infielder Aroon Escobar, and Orioles right-hander Patrick Reilly. The analysts evaluated each player's tools, injury history, and defensive or pitching profile to assess whether their respective clubs will protect them or risk losing them to other major league teams.
