"He will forever be remembered by Reds fans for catching the final out"
Former Cincinnati Reds player Todd Benzinger has passed away at the age of 63, the team announced on Thursday. Benzinger, who died on Wednesday, is widely remembered by baseball fans for catching the final out of the 1990 World Series championship run.
Benzinger spent nine seasons in Major League Baseball, playing for the Boston Red Sox, Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Dodgers, and San Francisco Giants in addition to the Reds. Following his playing career, he managed Class-A Dayton from 2009 to 2010 and remained actively involved with youth baseball and team alumni events.
