Steven Kwan Reveals Why He’s Excited For Guardians’ Future

Cleveland Guardians outfielder Steven Kwan expressed excitement for the franchise's future following a strong second-half turnaround. Speaking to Keegan Matheson of MLB.com, Kwan praised the team's emerging young players for stepping up into critical roles throughout the season. After overcoming early offensive struggles and losing his leadoff spot, Kwan finished the campaign with a 114 wRC+ to re-establish himself as a key contributor in Cleveland's lineup.

Kwan's comments arrive amid uncertainty regarding his long-term tenure in Cleveland. The Guardians have yet to sign the outfielder to a contract extension, and he is set to enter his contract year in 2027. Andres Chavez outlines Cleveland's options as pursuing a trade, negotiating an extension, or keeping Kwan through the conclusion of his contract.
