DePodesta, Rockies ready to ‘act early’ after 3rd straight 100-plus-loss season

The Colorado Rockies concluded their 2026 season with a 4-2 loss to the Chicago White Sox, finishing with a 58-104 record. The result marked the franchise's fourth consecutive season with at least 100 losses after dropping 30 of their final 38 games. President of baseball operations Paul DePodesta stated that the front office is fully established and prepared to act early in trades and free agency this offseason.

While the Rockies showed offensive progress under manager Warren Schaeffer with 752 runs scored, their starting pitching struggled significantly. Colorado's rotation finished last in Major League Baseball in strikeouts, ERA at 6.28, batting average against at .303, and WHIP at 1.58. DePodesta and general manager Josh Byrnes plan to address these roster deficiencies in the coming months.
