Purple Row ranked right-handed pitcher Keegan Thompson at No. 38 in its 2026 Colorado Rockies player review after he posted a -0.2 rWAR. Thompson signed a one-year, $1.3 million deal in January 2026 after being waived by the Cincinnati Reds. Across five major league appearances starting on May 23, he posted an 8.25 ERA over 12.0 innings before being designated for assignment on June 9.
After clearing waivers, Thompson spent the rest of the campaign with Triple-A Albuquerque, recording a 5.28 ERA and 56 strikeouts across 73.1 innings. Joelle Milholm writes that career-long inconsistency plagued Thompson throughout 2026, leaving his future uncertain heading into 2027.
