Welcome to the 2026 edition of Ranking the Rockies, where we take a look back at every player to log playing time for the Rockies in 2026. The purpose of this list is to provide a snapshot of the player…

Purple Row's James Riggenbach placed pitcher Michael Lorenzen at No. 53 in the 2026 Ranking the Rockies series after he posted a -1.7 rWAR. Signed to provide veteran stability to the Colorado rotation, Lorenzen struggled across 25 starts, compiling a 3-11 record, 7.08 ERA, and 1.88 WHIP over 115.2 innings before being designated for assignment on August 17.
Riggenbach notes that Lorenzen frequently changed his pitch mix and sequencing, yet failed to achieve consistent results, yielding hard contact on his four-seam fastball and managing just two quality starts. Following his release, Lorenzen joined the Toronto Blue Jays, where he posted an 8.49 ERA in six relief appearances before being designated for assignment again on September 18.
