DENVER -- The genius of the Rockies’ “Here for the Climb” campaign for this year is that there isn’t a timeline on how long such an ascension will take, or even when it will start.
Colorado Rockies shortstop Ezequiel Tovar hit his 12th home run of the season during a 5-3 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks at Coors Field. Despite Colorado suffering its 101st loss of the campaign, Tovar has shown improvement by batting .301 over his last 39 games and .317 through 16 games in September.
Following a difficult 2026 season featuring a .218 batting average and .611 OPS, the 24-year-old expressed confidence in his physical health. Tovar plans to conduct offseason training in Florida, Venezuela, Arizona, and Puerto Rico alongside Rockies third-base coach Andy Gonzalez to focus on mental and technical preparation.
