Among the ‘wishlist’ of things for the New York Yankees this offseason, perhaps the biggest point of emphasis for Brian Cashman and the Yankees’ front office is finding a replacement for third baseman Ryan McMahon. New York could do this…
A trade proposal pitched by SNY suggests the New York Yankees send outfielder Jasson Dominguez to the Detroit Tigers in exchange for infielder Zach McKinstry. The potential deal aims to address New York's need to replace third baseman Ryan McMahon ahead of the upcoming campaign, either via free agency or the trade market.
Heavy writer TJ French argues that the swap makes little sense for the Yankees, noting McKinstry struggled with a .199 batting average in 2026. French suggests that if New York moves the 23-year-old Dominguez, general manager Brian Cashman should pursue more productive targets such as Nolan Arenado, Alec Bohm, or Isaac Paredes.
