Tigers To Part Ways With Two Coaches

The Detroit Tigers are expected to part ways with assistant pitching coach Juan Nieves and first base coach Anthony Sanders, according to a report by The Athletic. Nieves had served on Detroit's major league coaching staff since 2021, working alongside pitching coach Chris Fetter, while Sanders spent just one season with the franchise.

Detroit will look to reshape parts of its staff following a campaign in which its pitching ranked sixth in ERA despite bullpen injuries. The club will also be replacing both base coaches for the 2027 season, having previously dismissed third base coach Joey Cora in July after the team ranked near the bottom of MLB in stolen bases.
