Williams was the eighth Cleveland pitcher used during a 9-5 win in Game 4 at Chicago.

Cleveland Guardians ace Gavin Williams will start Saturday's decisive Game 5 of the AL Division Series against Sean Burke and the Chicago White Sox. Guardians manager Stephen Vogt confirmed the assignment after Williams earned a save in relief during Thursday's 9-5 Game 4 victory. Williams threw 18 pitches out of the bullpen to close out that contest and level the best-of-five series at two games apiece.
White Sox manager Will Venable named Burke as his starter, marking Chicago's first traditional start of the postseason after previously utilizing openers. Burke previously earned the win in Game 2 with a strong relief appearance. The winner of Saturday's matchup in Cleveland will advance to face Tampa Bay in Game 1 of the ALCS on Monday.
