Cleveland Guardians designated hitter Jo Adell hit a bases-clearing three-run triple against the Chicago White Sox in ALDS Game 3. The two-out swing off Hagen Smith occurred during the third inning at Rate Field, handing Cleveland an early 4-1 lead as the team faced postseason elimination.
Cleveland originally acquired Adell from the Los Angeles Angels at the trade deadline in exchange for catching prospect Jacob Cozart. The hit marked Adell's second RBI triple of the series, following another in Game 2, as the White Sox later cut the score to 4-2 in the fourth.
