The Houston Astros reportedly cut a World Series champion from their roster after he spent 10 years with the organization.

The Houston Astros are designating center fielder Jake Meyers for assignment after a decade with the organization, according to reporter Ari Alexander. The procedural move will clear a 40-man roster spot as the 30-year-old outfielder is due to come off the 60-day injured list.
Meyers was limited to 57 games in 2026 due to oblique, back, and knee injuries, batting .213 with three home runs. Originally drafted by Houston in 2017, he debuted in 2021 and was a member of the team's 2022 World Series championship squad.
