Houston Astros outfielder Joey Loperfido underwent arthroscopic surgery on his right hip last week to repair a labral injury and impingement discovered after the season ended. The Astros announced on Monday that Loperfido will not be ready in time for the start of Spring Training.
Loperfido, reacquired by Houston from the Toronto Blue Jays via trade in February, batted .214 in 40 games for the Astros during the regular season. The 2021 seventh-round draft pick made Houston's Opening Day roster before battling injuries and spending time across Double-A and Triple-A.
