The Story in 60 Seconds

Milwaukee Brewers Hall of Famer Robin Yount and the team's radio broadcast crew paid tribute to the late Bob Uecker by wearing plaid sport coats from Uecker's personal wardrobe ahead of Game 1 of the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays. Yount wore one of the iconic jackets onto the mound before taking it off to reveal a custom jersey displaying "Ueck" and his No. 19 to throw out the ceremonial first pitch alongside Bud Selig.

The tribute received approval from Uecker's family, allowing radio broadcasters Lane Grindle, Jeff Levering, Josh Maurer, and engineer Kent Sommerfeld to wear the vintage blazers during the game. Several jackets worn had previously featured in Uecker's famous Miller Lite commercials and on his book cover. Uecker, who passed away in January 2025 at age 90, served as the voice of the Brewers for 54 years.
