Former Major League Baseball player Todd Benzinger, who helped the Cincinnati Reds win the 1990 World Series, has died at age 63. The Reds announced that Benzinger passed away on Wednesday. He spent nine seasons in the majors, playing for Cincinnati from 1989 to 1991, and famously caught the final out of the 1990 World Series.
Benzinger debuted in 1987 with the Boston Red Sox and also played for the Kansas City Royals, Los Angeles Dodgers, and San Francisco Giants before retiring in 1995. He later managed Class-A Dayton from 2009 to 2010 and remained an active participant in community and youth baseball events.
