The Yankees might be forced to make a change to their coaching staff.

New York Yankees bench coach Brad Ausmus is interviewing for the Houston Astros' vacant managerial position, according to a report by The Post's Jon Heyman. The opening follows the departure of former manager Joe Espada. Ausmus previously played 10 seasons as a catcher for Houston and was seen visiting the team's offices at Daikin Park shortly before the Astros named Randy Flores as their general manager.
Ausmus joined Aaron Boone's coaching staff prior to the 2024 season after previously managing the Detroit Tigers and Los Angeles Angels to a combined 386-422 record. He was previously a finalist for Houston's managerial role in 2020 and a candidate for their general manager job in 2023.
