Kansas City Royals star catcher Carter Jensen is so close to a Silver Slugger Award that he can taste it.

Kansas City Royals rookie catcher Carter Jensen has been named a finalist for the 2026 Louisville Slugger Silver Slugger Award. If Jensen secures the honor on November 17, he would become the fifth consecutive rookie across Major League Baseball to win a Silver Slugger. Fellow Royals Bobby Witt Jr. and Jac Caglianone were also selected as award finalists.
Writer Matthew Swigonski argues that Jensen has a strong opportunity to win over Detroit Tigers rival Dillon Dingler following Dingler's second-half offensive decline. Jensen finished his rookie campaign with 27 home runs, 81 RBIs, and an .882 OPS across his final 60 appearances.
