While the team has not officially confirmed the move, Mense is expected to join the major league coaching staff alongside Marcus Thames as co-hitting coaches, with Connor Dawson serving as the offensive coordinator.
Former hitting coach Alec Zumwalt will stay within the organization as senior director of hitting performance focusing on the Minor Leagues. The 42-year-old Mense previously coached with the Toronto Blue Jays before joining the Giants for the 2026 campaign.
