The Los Angeles Angels have been connected to sign Teruaki Sato, but their window to sign him just got shorter.

The Los Angeles Angels face mounting challenges in their pursuit of Japanese star infielder Teruaki Sato due to a shortened posting window. According to a report by The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal, MLB and NPB decided not to pause the posting window for an upcoming December 1 lockout. Consequently, Sato's negotiation window has shrunk from the typical 45 days to just 30 days.
Brian Burrows notes that this compressed timeline complicates matters for the Angels, who are simultaneously navigating an ownership transition from Arte Moreno to Stan Kroenke as well as an interim general manager. Sato, a 27-year-old slugger, is entering the MLB market after capturing the Triple Crown in Japan's Central League with a .306 average, 39 home runs, and 106 RBIs.
