The Story in 60 Seconds

Santa Barbara High junior Cade Mault delivered a standout performance, scoring all of his team's points in a 13-10 football victory over Westlake. A Cal Poly soccer commit who taught himself to kick and punt, Mault recorded an 85-yard touchdown catch, converted field goals from 49 and 43 yards, kicked the PAT, and gained a first down on a fake punt.

Mault holds a perfect kicking record this season, converting all four field-goal attempts and every PAT while balancing weekday practices and weekend club soccer. Santa Barbara coach Nathan Mendoza praised the multisport athlete, whose athletic family includes older brother Kai, a former Santa Barbara receiver now playing baseball at UC Davis.
