LOS ANGELES -- Top prospect Josue De Paula's first stint with the Dodgers is over after an impressive 11-game sample. But he could very well be back with the big league club when the calendar flips to October.
The Los Angeles Dodgers optioned top prospect Josue De Paula to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday to make room for designated hitter Shohei Ohtani, who was activated from the 15-day injured list. De Paula posted a .323 batting average with seven RBIs and drew 11 walks across an impressive 11-game major league stint after jumping directly from Double-A.
Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman and manager Dave Roberts indicated that De Paula remains under strong consideration for the postseason roster. The move allows De Paula to maintain regular at-bats during the Triple-A postseason while preserving his eligibility for the National League Division Series.
