Yoshinobu Yamamoto threw seven innings of one-run ball and struck out 10 as the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Atlanta Braves 3-1 on Tuesday night to take a 2-1 lead in their National League Division Series.
Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts heavily praised starting pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto following a 3-1 victory against the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday. Yamamoto allowed one run and struck out a postseason career-high 10 batters over seven innings, leading the Dodgers to a 2-1 series lead in the National League Division Series.
Roberts lauded Yamamoto's consistency and composure, calling his performance awesome and describing him as an exceptionally steady ace. Kiké Hernández and Freddie Freeman hit back-to-back fourth-inning home runs off Braves starter Chris Sale, while Edwin Díaz earned the save in the ninth.
