Outfielder Alek Thomas has decided to leave the Los Angeles Dodgers organization by electing free agency following the 2026 season. Acquired via trade from the Arizona Diamondbacks earlier in the year, the 26-year-old finished the campaign in the Minor Leagues and chose free agency to seek a clearer path back to a Major League roster.
Thomas batted .305/.378/.537 in 272 at-bats for the Triple-A Oklahoma City Comets after filling in briefly for an injured Andy Pages at the Major League level. While the Dodgers preferred to keep him for outfield depth, his strong Minor League campaign significantly boosted his market value for a potential MLB opportunity elsewhere.
