Former Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Hideo Nomo will be honored at the 22nd annual Asian Hall of Fame induction ceremony at the Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles. Former Dodgers president Peter O'Malley will present Nomo with the organization's inaugural Sports Pioneer Medal in recognition of his groundbreaking career in Major League Baseball.

Nomo joined the Dodgers in 1995 after pitching for the Kintetsu Buffaloes, winning NL Rookie of the Year honors and leading the league with 236 strikeouts. Over 12 Major League seasons with seven franchises, he accumulated 123 total wins, including an 81-66 record and a historic 1996 no-hitter with Los Angeles.
