On November 5, 2008, Hall of Fame pitcher Greg Maddux was awarded the 18th Gold Glove Award of his career while playing with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The honor marked his second Gold Glove with the franchise and extended his Major League Baseball record to two more than Brooks Robinson and Jim Kaat.
Maddux spent the final stretch of his 23rd Major League season in Los Angeles after being acquired via trade from the San Diego Padres. During his brief 2008 stint, he reached 5,000 career innings and secured his 355th win, surpassing Roger Clemens for eighth all-time.
