Kiké Hernández did not announce his retirement. His Instagram message on Oct.

Kiké Hernández hinted at a potential departure from the Los Angeles Dodgers through a social media post following the team's NLCS sweep by the Milwaukee Brewers. The 35-year-old utility player thanked fans and reflected on the past three seasons, though he did not announce retirement. Hernández enters free agency after playing on a one-year, $4.5 million contract during the 2026 campaign.
Hernández endured an injury-shortened 2026 regular season, appearing in just 41 games while batting .222 with four home runs. Despite a challenging year, he hit his 17th career postseason home run in the NLDS against Atlanta. The Dodgers face multiple roster decisions with nine impending free agents, though team president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman has historically kept the door open for Hernández's return.
