Marlins outfielder Jakob Marsee and right-hander Tyler Zuber had visits with Dr. Keith Meister at the end of the season. Those appointments don’t usually end well, and that’s the case this time around.
Miami Marlins outfielder Jakob Marsee and right-handed pitcher Tyler Zuber are both scheduled to undergo elbow surgery with Dr. Keith Meister. Marsee will receive a UCL reconstruction and faces an estimated six-month recovery, making an Opening Day return unlikely. Zuber is slated for an internal brace procedure to repair his UCL, which will sideline him for 10 to 12 months.
Marsee dealt with elbow soreness late in the season despite posting a strong .985 OPS in September during his first full MLB campaign. Zuber landed on the injured list with an elbow sprain in the final week of the regular season, adding to long-term injury issues across Miami's bullpen heading into 2027.
