The Miami Marlins have a handshake agreement with Robinson Cano Jr., a 16-year-old infielder and son of eight-time MLB All-Star Robinson Cano.

The Miami Marlins have reportedly reached a $1 million pre-agreement with 16-year-old infielder Robinson Cano Jr., the son of former MLB All-Star Robinson Cano. Baseball fans took to social media to react to the news, with many expressing how old the signing made them feel given their memories of his father's 17-season major league career.
The deal represents a non-binding pre-agreement for Miami's 2028 international signing class, as Cano Jr. cannot officially sign until that window opens. The right-handed hitting middle infielder, who showcased his skills for scouts in Mexico City, is expected to eventually begin his professional journey in the Dominican Summer League.
