ST. PETERSBURG -- The 2026 World Series was threatening to be “scintillating … for a sweep.” But now it’s scintillating on its own accord.

The Milwaukee Brewers and Tampa Bay Rays face off in Game 5 of the 2026 World Series on Wednesday night at Tropicana Field. After falling behind 3-0 in the series, the Rays avoided elimination by securing a 4-3 comeback victory in the 12th inning of Game 4. Milwaukee remains one victory away from claiming the first World Series title in franchise history.
Milwaukee will start right-hander Jacob Misiorowski on regular rest, while Tampa Bay faces a probable bullpen game after using all five rotation arms over the previous four nights. Rays manager Kevin Cash noted that most pitchers will be available for an inning or more with their season on the line.
