For Milwaukee, this is more than just a ticket to the World Series; it is a moment 44 years in the making. The Brewers have finally returned to the Fall Classic for the first time since 1982.
The Milwaukee Brewers received a celebratory welcome upon returning home after sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers 4-0 in the NLCS. Fans, airport staff, and families greeted the team at the airport, where the aircraft received a water cannon salute from the fire department. Manager Pat Murphy and owner Mark Attanasio were among those celebrating the franchise's first World Series appearance since 1982 following their 6-4 victory in Game 4.
Milwaukee made MLB history by sweeping the same opponent that swept them in the postseason the previous year, while also trailing at some point in every game. Due to excitement surrounding the upcoming Fall Classic, the Milwaukee Bucks rescheduled their 2026–27 home opener to earlier in the day to accommodate Game 1 of the World Series at American Family Field.
