The Story in 60 Seconds

Minnesota Twins catching prospect Enrique Jimenez has joined the club's Arizona Fall League contingent. The 20-year-old was assigned to the AFL roster after outfielder Jacob McCombs suffered an oblique strain. Jimenez had previously been sidelined by two injuries during the 2026 season, including a July hamstring strain, but progressed through his rehabilitation in Fort Myers ahead of schedule to secure development time.

Jimenez, acquired from the Detroit Tigers in the Chris Paddack trade, joins a deep group of young Minnesota catchers that includes top draft picks Vahn Lackey and Carson Tinney. Meanwhile, the Twins recently hired former Tampa Bay Rays Triple-A pitching coach Brian Reith, and infield prospect Kyle DeBarge continues an impressive AFL run after a four-hit performance.
