Bo Bichette has exercised his $42 million player option to return to the New York Mets for the 2027 season, according to Will Sammon of The Athletic. The decision arrived just one day after the conclusion of the season. Bichette holds an additional player option in his contract following the 2027 campaign.
During his first year in Queens, the third baseman batted .260 with 18 home runs and 78 RBIs across 166 hits. The Mets view Bichette as a core lineup presence alongside Francisco Lindor and Juan Soto, securing stability at third base after he demonstrated defensive adjustments and a strong second half.
