Despite widespread roster shuffling and late-season injuries to pitchers like Robert Stock and Christian Scott, several young arms closed out their campaigns effectively. Notably, Nolan McLean earned his twelfth win of the season, and rookie Jonah Tong struck out a career-high nine batters in a late start against the Nationals.
Injuries also brought prominent bullpen shifts, including the returns of Devin Williams and Cionel Pérez from the injured list. While Kodai Senga and Sean Manaea endured mixed results down the stretch, relievers Dedniel Núñez and Nate Lavender produced reliable appearances. McCague notes that the late-season contributions from young starters and returning relievers offer optimism for the club heading into 2027.
