"I was trying to be smart and funny, and apparently I wasn't either," he said on "The Mets Pod."

Ron Darling confirmed on SNY's "The Mets Pod" that he will remain in the New York Mets broadcast booth for the 2027 season. His clarification comes after he sparked speculation regarding his future during an earlier interview with The New York Post, in which he gave a noncommittal response about returning.
Darling explained that his previous remarks were an attempt to be funny and reaffirmed his commitment alongside broadcast partners Gary Cohen and Keith Hernandez. Darling, who joined SNY in 2006, expressed his desire to remain with the network and witness another Mets World Series championship.
