JoJo Romero merits a Yankees look in free agency, but his full-season record should shape the price more than four playoff games.

Alexander Wilson of Empire Sports Media argues that the New York Yankees should not overpay for impending free-agent reliever JoJo Romero based solely on his recent postseason success. While acknowledging Romero as an appealing left-handed bullpen target, the writer cautions that the Yankees must evaluate his full-season body of work rather than treating his dominant October playoff stretch as his permanent performance level.
Romero posted a 3.36 ERA across 56 1/3 innings during the regular season with St. Louis and Milwaukee before striking out nine over 5 1/3 postseason innings. Wilson contends the Yankees should target Romero as a reliable setup option only if the contract remains defensible, advising against overpaying if rival bidding drives the price beyond his established value.
