Jasson Dominguez needs a defined Yankees role in 2027, and his hitting and defensive workload make vague bench plans hard to sell.
Alexander Wilson of Empire Sports Media argues that the New York Yankees must either provide Jasson Dominguez with regular playing time or explore trading him. Wilson contends that entering another season with Dominguez relying solely on sporadic at-bats or injuries to other players would hinder his overall development and proper evaluation.
Dominguez struggled during the 2026 season, batting .225 with a .635 OPS, 10 walks, and 48 strikeouts across 222 plate appearances. Wilson notes that while selling low on the young outfielder could yield an inadequate return, the Yankees must establish a clear roster role for him.
