Freddy Peralta became a free agent after the Tampa Bay Rays were eliminated from the World Series. The Phillies already have a stellar rotation but should look to strengthen it further this offseason.

Matt Davis of That Balls Outta Here argues that the Philadelphia Phillies should target free agent right-handed pitcher Freddy Peralta to strengthen their rotation. Davis writes that signing Peralta would provide valuable flexibility, such as enabling a six-man rotation to manage veterans' workloads or offering depth in case of injuries.
Davis also suggests that adding Peralta could allow the Phillies to trade an existing starting pitcher to acquire a right-handed corner-outfield bat. Peralta, who posted a 3.25 ERA in 10 starts with the Tampa Bay Rays after being traded by the New York Mets, is projected by Spotrac to land a seven-year, $200 million contract.
