MLB insider Bob Nightengale stated on 97.5 The Fanatic that he believes the Philadelphia Phillies will consider shopping star players this offseason. Following an early elimination by the Atlanta Braves in the Wild Card Series, Nightengale suggested the front office may explore trades involving prominent names like Bryce Harper or Trea Turner to alter the roster.
Nightengale noted the franchise is unlikely to rebuild under owner John Middleton, but could instead reshuffle talent. Baseball Now highlighted that trading Turner would likely require absorbing significant contract costs due to his offensive struggles, whereas Harper demonstrated All-Star form throughout the year.
