Camilo Doval has had a rough go of things since his All-Star campaign in 2023, but the former closer could bring a trustworthy option to the Phillies' untrustworthy bullpen this offseason.

Writer Brandon Glick argues that San Francisco Giants reliever Camilo Doval could be a strong buy-low free agent target for the Philadelphia Phillies bullpen this offseason. Following a postseason exit against the Atlanta Braves that highlighted bullpen depth concerns under manager Don Mattingly, the Phillies reportedly need to rebuild their relief corps.
According to the report, Doval is expected to be non-tendered as a projected $6.5 million arbitration candidate following recent struggles with the Giants and New York Yankees. Despite persistent command issues, Glick notes Doval's fastball velocity ranked in the 95th percentile alongside elite groundball and whiff rates.
