Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Luis Arraez suffered a sprained left ankle on September 24 against the Milwaukee Brewers, creating roster uncertainty ahead of the Wild Card Series. Although Arraez avoided a catastrophic injury, he will not be fully recovered by the time the postseason begins against the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park.

MLB.com's Todd Zolecki reported that Arraez's ankle improved enough that Don Mattingly considered him hypothetically available to pinch-hit on Sunday. However, Arraez had not yet resumed taking swings in the cage following the injury.
