You may not have noticed, but MLB free agency actually started on Tuesday. Usually, that doesn’t mean much considering the glacial pace of a normal offseason. But with the lockout looming on December 1st, maybe we’ll actually see a flutter…
The Philadelphia Phillies enter another pivotal offseason led by Dave Dombrowski, who faces the task of addressing roster needs in a limited market. Meanwhile, starting pitcher Cristopher Sánchez comes off another Cy Young finalist campaign, though reports note his sinker was less sharp compared to 2025.
Elsewhere across Major League Baseball, former St. Louis Cardinals MVP Albert Pujols is scheduled to interview for the Houston Astros open managerial position. Additionally, the Athletics have hired former Milwaukee Brewers executive Cam Castro as their new general manager as free agency gets underway.
