The Story in 60 Seconds

That Balls Outta Here writer Ethan Williams evaluated the Philadelphia Phillies' infield following the 2026 season, giving mixed report-card grades to key players. Williams gave high A- marks to Bryce Harper, who slashed .269/.380/.485 across all 162 games, and Kyle Schwarber, who led MLB with 45 home runs. In contrast, high-priced shortstop Trea Turner received a failing grade of F after recording a career-worst .675 OPS and -10 outs above average.

Other infielders received lower evaluations from Williams, including third baseman Alec Bohm with a D+ after posting negative rWAR and trade-deadline acquisition Luis Arraez with a D after an injury-shortened stint. Bryson Stott earned a B- for his defensive adaptability shifting from second to third base, while utility player Edmundo Sosa received a C- heading into free agency.
