Bucs on Deck 2026 Pirates Pitcher of the Year: Seth Hernandez

Seth Hernandez was named the 2026 Bucs on Deck Pirates Pitcher of the Year following an impressive first professional baseball season. The former sixth overall draft pick delivered dominant performances across two minor-league levels for the Pittsburgh Pirates organization before his campaign was cut short by an oblique injury.

Over the course of 18 starts and 74 innings pitched split between Bradenton and Greensboro, Hernandez recorded 118 strikeouts and posted a combined 2.43 ERA. He achieved a 0.96 ERA at the Low-A level before earning a promotion to High-A Greensboro, where he struck out 68 batters over 46 innings.
