The National League Division Series between the Milwaukee Brewers and San Diego Padres is set to challenge postseason velocity records. The matchup features Milwaukee starter Jacob Misiorowski and San Diego reliever Mason Miller, the two pitchers who threw the most 100-plus mph pitches in Major League Baseball during the regular season. The current postseason series record stands at 56 triple-digit pitches, set during the 2016 NLDS.
Misiorowski led the majors with a 1.80 ERA and 252 strikeouts, surpassing 56 triple-digit pitches by himself in four separate starts this year. Miller recorded 129 strikeouts and 38 saves with a 1.67 ERA for the Padres. Game 1 begins Saturday night at American Family Field, managed by Milwaukee's Pat Murphy and San Diego's Craig Stammen.
